Alice Vinten spent eleven years on the front lines of London as a police constable in the Metropolitan Police Service.  She wrote about her time in the police in her memoir, On The Line (Two Roads Books), which has not only received excellent reviews from crime writers such as Ian Rankin and Erin Kelly but is also a bestseller at Amazon Books.
